We are looking for a Director, Product Creative to join the GenAI Central Design & Content team with a background in creative direction, motion, branding, design systems, and product design. You're a conceptual thinker who can bring your ideas to life in new and inspiring ways–you live at the bleeding edge. You have a strong point of view on design and it shows in your work. When you decide to make something, you see your vision from concept to launch without any hand-holding. You should have unwavering dedication to design excellence. And, you must be comfortable working in deep collaboration with various disciplines across the company, and bridging software and hardware. The GenAI Design & Content org is responsible for developing and maintaining the visual systems and in-product creative that establish the voice, tone, and visual craft of our GenAI Products (Meta AI) and integrations across Meta. Your scope will include typography, icons, product illustrations, product photography, and motion design across all Meta AI and applications of Meta AI across Meta. This team must successfully navigate and collaborate with a broad set of product design teams across the company, e.g., Instagram, Wearables, WhatsApp, etc., as well as partnering with agencies, studios, and independents around the world.
Director, Product Creative | GenAI Central Design & Content Responsibilities
  • Create the proposals (sketches, storyboards, prototypes, and/or design specs) necessary to guide the development of novel, scalable and cohesive GenAI experiences.
  • Work closely with Product Design, Content Design, and Brand to implement a cohesive visual style, voice, and tone.
  • Direct a diverse team of creatives to execute on the work.
  • Output iconography, illustration, photography, video, motion or other media (as appropriate).
  • Create visual content with a narrative in mind and an understanding of content hierarchy, beginning – middle - end.
  • Absorb knowledge and direction, build on it to bring ideas to life.
  • Rapidly build productive and mutually beneficial relationships across functions and teams.
  • Identify and seek out creative opportunities to improve on existing product experience, style and approach to evolve and elevate our brand and product experiences.
  • Prioritize and execute on high-priority creative moments and opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of industry experience in a people management role on a design team.
  • 10+ years experience as a Creative Director at a creative agency or an in-house team.
  • Technical experience, e.g. has implemented designs with HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
  • Technical understanding of motion design frameworks (ex Lottie), 2d & 3d (ex Cinema 4d).
  • Experience shaping and leading product development strategy.
  • A portfolio of work that contains examples of Interaction (UX) Design and Visual Systems Development across devices and platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience as a member of a Product Design team.
  • Product design, photography, iconography, and illustration experience.
  • Presentation, interpersonal, and communication experience.
  • Experience communicating concepts to diverse groups of stakeholders.
  • Experience taking design feedback and incorporating it.
  • A portfolio of design work.
  • Experience coordinating, directing, and guiding the work of other interdisciplinary designers and creatives.

$221,000/year to $283,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
