We are looking for a skilled Battery Research Engineer to join our team, to contribute to developing advanced lithium-ion batteries for next-generation XR devices.
Battery Research Engineer Responsibilities
  • Manage battery research lab, lead capital projects
  • Develop materials (for example electrodes, electrolytes) for advanced Lithium-ion batteries
  • Build prototype battery cells using a mix of off the shelf and custom materials
  • Test batteries using standard testers such as Maccor and Arbin
  • Analyze test data, perform battery tear downs and failure analysis, and prepare reports
  • Prepare and maintain battery testing Standard Operating Procedures
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors or equivalent degree in the field of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Applied Physics, Material Science, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience working in a battery lab, including battery material synthesis, electrode fabrication and formulation, electrolyte formulation, cell design and construction, etc. in academic or industrial environment.
  • 2+ years of experience working with battery testers such as Maccor and Arbin
  • 2+ years of experience performing data analysis and preparing reports
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Applied Physics, Material Science, or related field.
  • Experience with chemical and physical characterization techniques, e.g., SEM, EDS, Raman, XRD, and XPS, and particle size determination.

$111,000/year to $131,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
