Meta is seeking a Program Specialist focused on employee onboarding and development to join our Infrastructure Foundation (“Infra FDN”) team. The Program Specialist will be responsible for facilitating and managing our business processes related to enhancing and sustaining our new employee onboarding program for Infra FDN, identifying gaps in employee development training curriculum and working with other team members in closing those gaps. This role will also support the team by identifying key process metrics and improvement opportunities to develop people and teams within Infra FDN, working closely with FDN Leads as well as our cross-functional partners. The Program Specialist will work effectively with cross-functional partners, leveraging what already exists, adapting where appropriate for Infra FDN needs, and incorporating pillar-specific unique situations. Moreover, the Program Specialist will demonstrate strategic thinking by creating a multi-year plan for onboarding and development that builds on what already exists while considering the planned scale and complexity of our organization for the next 5 years. The candidate will need to be forward thinking, anticipating future needs and growth trends, and sequencing work based on the maturity and priorities of the broader organization.
Infrastructure Program Specialist, Onboarding and Development Responsibilities
  • Be the primary owner of the Infra Foundation onboarding modules for new / transferring employees, ensuring they are complete and current.
  • Continually work to improve the modules by seeking data-informed feedback on timeliness and effectiveness in helping the new employee be successful in their role.
  • Build out a rolling 3-year strategy to improve Infra FDN’s onboarding process that leads to new and transferring employees making impact quickly and in line with Infra FDN’s goals and objectives.
  • Track all new / transferred Infra FDN employees’ onboarding progress so that we can drive consistency of experience and have a baseline from which to improve on.
  • Partner with HRBP stakeholders to implement and program manage Manager onboarding and development programs, inclusive of new-to-Meta training as well as newly promoted people managers.
  • Establish best practices for managers and team members to welcome new employees. Track if these practices are working as intended and continually adjust to make them better.
  • Create and update frequently reviewed wikis, and other data locations, that help new hires with all the common questions to ensure sustainability in our onboarding process.
  • Determine the clearest and most logical way to present information for greatest reader comprehension.
  • Meet with subject-matter experts to ensure specialized topics are appropriately addressed.
  • Review and, or copyedit content developed by other members of the team.
  • Lead improvement efforts that drive consistency in how we describe the work across Infra FDN using common terminology.
  • Work with others across Infra FDN to ensure their content is updated and reviewed for relevance on a regular basis.
  • Build relationships and gain consensus with key stakeholders while focusing on executing timely solutions.
  • Identify development gaps when an employee is in the first year in the role and then work with cross-functional partners to build out content to address those gaps. Work to incorporate these findings in the rolling strategy.
  • Mitigate risks by managing dependencies across multiple pillars, teams, and locations. Clearly communicate dependencies and manage/track exceptions.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership and key stakeholders on KPIs, improvements, and risks.
  • Gather business and technical requirements across teams, think broadly and strategically about initiatives on a global basis, use data collection and analysis to drive decisions, and work with stakeholders to operationalize onboarding practices, curriculum, and development
  • Prioritize for positive impact, and stay organized and structured, synthesizing available data into information that is readily actioned and communicated.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of operational experience working in a similar business function.
  • Proven technical documentation and copyediting skills that make materials easier to understand.
  • Well organized with information, documentation, and workflows. Experienced in structuring information so that others can quickly find what is needed.
  • Highly organized in communication, demonstrated experience in keeping information structured in a manner that allows others to quickly understand content and message.
  • Experienced in using Excel, Word, G-Suite applications.
  • Experience communicating key insights and business recommendations to non-technical audiences and working with technical management teams to help develop processes and solutions.
  • Experience establishing work relationships across multi-disciplinary teams and multiple partners in different time zones.
  • Experience capturing complex concepts and communicating them to stakeholders effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience documenting business requirements to drive the development of new programs, experiences, and tools.
  • Program and project management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resource management, organizational design, learning and development or similar field aligned with the job responsibilities.

$116,000/year to $166,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
