Facebook designs, builds, leases and operates the most innovative and efficient data centers in the world, and supports them with 100% renewable energy as part of our goal to maintain net-zero emissions for our operations today, and achieve net-zero emissions across our supply chain by 2030. Facebook’s energy program drives thousands of megawatts of renewable energy onto electric grids around the world and creates the regulatory and policy efforts required to support them. Facebook is seeking an experienced and outgoing individual to join our data center community and economic development team to support our strategic engagement on energy policy issues that impact data center operations. You must have direct experience developing and successfully implementing government affairs and outreach strategies in the energy space. This role will partner closely with our energy strategy and renewable energy teams.
Economic Development Data Center Advocacy Analyst Responsibilities
  • Identify and monitor relevant legislation and rulemaking proceedings across 30+ states, manage review from cross-functional partners, and consolidate feedback
  • Draft summaries of relevant legislation and agency rules
  • Support policy-related research efforts
  • Support economic development and energy managers to work with cross functional partners to identify potential impacts stemming from policy and regulatory proposals
  • Support initiatives led by community and economic development and energy teams on data center policy issues
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in public policy, economics, energy and sustainability or related fields
  • 3+ years of experience in policy analysis and legislative monitoring and tracking fields
  • Experience drafting summaries of policy and regulatory proposals and collecting feedback from subject matter experts
  • Experience supporting advocacy initiatives that span across roles and teams in the organization (business and policy teams) and external partners
  • Experience supporting outreach programs and managing stakeholder relationships on policy-related issues
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working on electoral campaigns or in legislative offices (or similar)
  • Experience with multi-state legislative tracking
  • Background in energy-focused policy issues and/or background in economic development policy issues
