We are looking for a Technology Lead, eDiscovery & Information Governance to join our eDiscovery and Information Governance Legal Team. In your role as a Technology Lead, eDiscovery & Information Governance you will focus on discovery/disclosure efforts in the various phases of the EDRM model for litigation and regulatory matters, investigations, and all other matters requiring the identification, preservation, collection, processing, and production of data. You will collaborate with a variety of technical and non-technical stakeholders, including case managers, project managers, information governance specialists, data scientists, and attorneys, as well as outside vendors. You will provide overall guidance and recommend best practices for extracting, processing, and filtering data in a defensible manner. You will be responsible for delivering technology related client services in the areas of data mapping and documentation, forensic data collections, data extraction, data processing, data review, as well as digital and forensic extraction and analysis. You will be responsible for having understanding of the SAAS collection and processing tools utilized by the team as well as evaluating alternative tools in the marketplace. You should also have a working knowledge of the laws that govern discovery and should be prepared to testify on the Company’s behalf relating to the defensibility of our processes during discovery disputes. To be considered as a candidate for this role, you should have a background in the eDiscovery and Forensic Technology fields with organizational, documentation, problem solving skills, and experience communicating your findings. You are detail-oriented with experience managing your time efficiently, utilizing available resources in order to meet deadlines, and balancing competing priorities.
Technology Lead, eDiscovery & Information Governance Responsibilities
  • Collect and analyze data from a variety of electronic media and company data sources: Performing imaging of computers, laptops, cell phones, tablets and other devices and collecting from a variety of cloud-based repositories, internal tools, collaboration tools and company data sources.
  • Maintain a repository of data in order to track evidence and leverage previously collected and produced data.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact with internal merits counsel, case teams, vendors and outside counsel law firms in order to execute processes throughout the EDRM lifecycle of legal matters.
  • Manage and update eDiscovery data processing and production specifications for the Company.
  • Consult with case teams to develop and implement eDiscovery project plans.
  • Monitor and research emerging eDiscovery technology tools and make recommendation on process improvements.
  • Identify areas for overall process improvements and automation.
  • Training case teams on tools and technology to better support the lifecycle of legal matters.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation (SOPs) including Chain of Custody and due diligence related to collections and processing.
  • Working extended hours when necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 8+ years experience with collection and processing technology, within a corporate legal environment or eDiscovery Service Provider.
  • Experience managing confidential information with professionalism and unquestionable integrity.
  • Proficient with eDiscovery platforms such as Nuix, M365, Relativity, SAAS Collection tools, and Proofpoint.
  • Proficient with device collections, including experience with Cellebrite Digital Collector and Physical Analyzer in imaging and extracting data, Paladin (laptops/desktops), EnCase/FTK and other forensic collection technology tools.
  • Working knowledge of data mining tools to search, sort, and organize large amounts of electronic information.
  • Experience operating macOS, Linux based OS, and similar Command Line Interface applications.
  • Understanding of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM).
  • Experience working with unstructured/structured datasets exported from various platforms, including analysis and custom work to develop reports.
  • Experience communicating complex ideas to technical and non-technical partners.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with scripting and database languages tools: Javascript, REST APIs, Python, PHP, Perl, SQL.
  • Previous experience providing testimony in support of eDiscovery collections and processes.
  • Familiarity with AI tools.

$124,000/year to $176,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
