This role will lead Design on all the developer aspects of Wearables at Meta. It's paired-up with collaborative, talented and experienced Product Management and Software Engineering co-leads. Together you'll set the strategy, approach and sequencing of work to make Meta Wearables one of the best platforms to build apps and integrations into. Every single device we launch aims to be not only a step towards AR glasses, but also discrete and uniquely valuable products loved by their users for all they can do for them. Product Design Manager - Wearables Developer Platform Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and user experience across products and platforms including Meta wearables, web, mobile, and custom developer tools
  • Build, lead and mentor a team of designers and product specialists, and a strategic plan for the future of the Meta Wearables Developer Platform team
  • Hire, mentor and manage a design team that consistently delivers on projects and is well-balanced across the different design skill sets
  • Responsible for overall team performance and health, location strategy, resource allocation, project prioritization, and building a practice of design distinction
  • Establish a design practice by staying on the forefront of emerging trends and best practices
  • Contribute to high-level strategic decisions with the rest of the product and executive teams
  • Work closely with engineering, product, and development teams on the definition of functional requirements
  • Take broad, conceptual ideas and turn them into something useful and valuable for developers building on our products
  • Lead and oversee the user experience of a product from conception to launch in partnership with product managers, engineers, UX researchers and more
  • Connect, build relationships, and work across Meta to understand user and business needs to inform our roadmap
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with 8+ years of experience in Product Design
  • 4+ years of design leadership experience with direct reports under your guidance and leadership
  • Experience building and shipping applications or software across a variety of platforms
  • Experience leading product direction and strategic thinking with the experience developing product goals, identify opportunities, and make decisions based on their impact on people and the company
  • Experience representing work to a broader product team and other leaders, clearly and succinctly articulating the goals and concepts
  • A portfolio that demonstrates relevant work, a understanding of best practices in product design and a track record of shipping high-quality products.
  • Understanding of developer ecosystems and industry examples of great developer platforms
  • Understanding of developer incentives and motivations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Can code and uses developer tools and documentation - Clearer empathy and understanding of developer workflows
  • Prior experience as an engineer or prototyper
  • Has designed or helped code developer tools or other creator tools
  • Consumer app design and level of craft - We aim for all our developer work to be crafted exceptionally well and with simplicity and care in mind

$196,000/year to $272,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
