About the Role We are looking for a skilled and experienced Technical Project Manager to join our Research Operations Team. As a Technical Program Manager, you will play a critical role in driving operational efficiency and effectiveness across our research teams. Your primary focus will be on ensuring that our teams have access to best-in-class tools, databases, and reporting to empower and inform research insights, process improvement, and decision-making. You will need experience working with cross-functional teams; capturing technical, business, and user requirements; and building tools and reporting at a fast-moving technology, university, or research organization. They will also work with a highly interdisciplinary team of researchers and engineers with a broad range of experiences, perspectives, approaches, and backgrounds and engineers and will program manage cross-functional business operations tooling and automation efforts to support Research planning, including, but not limited to, tools that support the build-out of new lab spaces, headcount management, project tracking, inventory management, business continuity, crisis management, privacy management, academic relations tools, and more.
Technical Project Manager, Enterprise Tools Responsibilities
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to steer large-scale strategic technical projects and solve ongoing operational problems
  • Build and optimize systems, tools, and standards that improve business capabilities within the Research organization. This includes dashboards to track and visualize organizational objectives and key results, headcount management, budget planning, and external and internal interfacing client data collection forms.
  • Coordinate the wider organization to ensure successful communication and delivery of various application launches and tool deprecation efforts
  • Drive technical acumen within the Research Operations team, coordinating and contributing to deliverables including architectural diagrams, specifications, dashboards, launch criteria, and test plans
  • Research, strategize, and recommend tooling and automation projects that help achieve increased efficiency and collaboration across Research
  • Manage current workplace tools, manage user permissions/access, and drive clarity and continuity through organizational changes
  • Evaluate existing tools and dashboards and design and project manage the consolidation process, making sure information is available and accessible at all times
  • Design and manage a robust Research lab and facility inventory management infrastructure system for our research labs and facilities functions to help manage storage cost and increase efficiency of supply management programs
  • Manage/track vendor budget for tools development, be the point of contact for tools vendors, evaluate/monitor vendor performance and proactively resolve vendor issues
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as a software engineer, data scientist, or technical project manager at a technology company, research institution, or similar organization
  • 3+ years of experience designing, building, testing, and launching technical reporting and dashboards
  • A track record of planning, executing, and delivering results for complex and cross-functional technical projects
  • Knowledge in SaaS or enterprise technologies
  • Interpersonal and inter-team skills, including: partnership building, mentorship, and conflict resolution across a cross-functional team
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Data Science
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree or PhD in a technical discipline
  • Direct experience working on business tools and reporting at a tech company
  • Direct experience with financial management tools and databases that track and reflect budgetary spend

$157,000/year to $218,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
