Meta is seeking an experienced tax professional to join its Tax team, supporting the growth and scaling of Meta’s global products and platform initiatives. This role focuses on platform capabilities that powers Meta’s product enablement, business planning, and operational support. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of partnering with Product Engineering teams to launch and scale platform solutions in fast-paced environments. In this role, you will drive the strategic planning and execution of technology and data initiatives that reshape end-to-end indirect tax processes — from compliance and provision to planning, calculations, reporting, and analytics. This is a strategic and hands-on role. You will manage complex platform initiatives while driving execution, collaborating closely across Meta’s Product, Engineering and Tax teams to apply current and emerging technologies, such as AI, to optimize tax processes. Entrepreneurial thinking, strategic vision, and executional rigor are essential—you’ll operate with autonomy, own your domain, and deliver measurable results.
Tax Manager, Platform Initiatives Responsibilities
  • Build and scale partnerships with Product Engineering teams, ensuring integration of tax requirements into product design, operations, and business processes
  • Partner with tax teams to identify automation and improvement opportunities, define business requirements, and translate them into technical and operational solutions aligned with Meta’s tax and business objectives
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering teams throughout the full lifecycle of platform product deployment — from design reviews and testing to launch, reporting, and compliance
  • Define and execute the indirect tax technology roadmap: set long-term roadmaps, objectives, and deliverables for the Indirect Tax team
  • Leverage emerging technologies, including AI and machine learning, to enhance tax processes and data-driven decision-making
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • 12+ years of combined relevant experience in Big 4 public accounting or U.S.-based multinational corporations
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management experience
  • Proven experience analyzing and organizing large volumes of information to identify automation and digitization opportunities
  • Proven experience explaining complex tax and technical concepts to non-technical audiences, including varying levels of leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Proven experience identifying pain points and designing practical, technology-enabled solutions
  • Experience applying generative AI or machine learning within tax or finance operations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with financial and tax systems (e.g., Oracle, Vertex)
  • Proven experience working with global, cross-functional teams to implement business processes in a multinational environment
  • Proven experience identifying and analyzing problem areas and creating short and long term solutions
  • Experience maintaining ownership, accountability, and adaptability in ambiguous environments and driving projects towards goals
  • History of progression and success in both Big 4 and in-house roles within a U.S.-based multinational corporation
  • CPA or equivalent certification preferred
