The MROS (Mixed Reality Operating system) Base platform organization brings new platforms and products to life. They are responsible for bringing up and delivering the core system, sensors and OS features for the platforms powering all Meta MR (Mixed Reality) devices. Our team builds the firmware for all virtual reality products enabling customers to interface and interact in the Metaverse (via headsets and controllers). The team has a history of shipping devices that users love and we have a roadmap for the next few years. Our team's goals are defined by product architecture, product development, firmware innovation & working on technologies that increase our competitive edge in the market. The firmware team has started a number of high impact initiatives that will shape the future of VR (Virtual Reality) products and VR product development. Our team is looking for an Engineering Manager with a background in embedded development to lead a number of projects & initiatives within the team. Embedded Software & Firmware, Engineering Manager Responsibilities
  • Be a technical manager engaging in discussions about Firmware development and the supporting software stack.
  • Build a collaborative and inclusive team environment, focused on delivering outcomes against organization & team goals.
  • Collaborate across EE, software teams, production & Data science to define and build software components and customer experiences
  • Operate in a rapidly evolving environment, adapting quickly to new information and re-prioritizing as needed
  • Evolve the team strategy & deliver towards tactical goals.
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers and be an effective people manager.
Minimum Qualifications
  • MS or BS in Computer Science or Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent
  • 10+ years experience in developing and shipping Firmware for consumer electronics products
  • 2+ years of experience in directly managing and leading teams.
  • Experience with building roadmaps and building a team to scale
  • Experience working with silicon vendor provided packages and solutions
  • Experience working with remote teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working with Camera stack, BSP (Board Support Package) and wireless solutions

$177,000/year to $251,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
