Meta is seeking a Research Engineer to join our Multimodal Reasoning and Embodied Agents Research team. We conduct focused research and engineering to build state-of-the-art multimodal world models and embodied agents. We are looking for experienced engineers who have a background in AI systems, with experience in areas like model evaluation; data processing for pre-training and fine-tuning. Experience in building agentic systems is a plus.

Research Engineer - FAIR Embodiment and Action Pillar Responsibilities

Contribute to experiments, including designing experimental details, authoring reusable code, running evaluations, and organizing results

Contribute to publications and open-sourcing efforts

Responsible for building the software platform for embodied AI agents using the models we develop

Responsible for software engineering in the team

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience

Research or development experience in machine learning, deep learning, and/or natural language processing and/or multimodal modeling

Programming experience in Python and hands-on experience with frameworks such as PyTorch

Experience in architectural patterns of large scale software applications

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience

A PhD in AI, computer science, data science, or related technical fields

Direct experience in building AI agentic systems
