Meta is looking for a director to lead our Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team that supports the Facilities, Culinary and Security (FC&S) organization. In this role, you will lead the financial analyses and support of one of our most dynamic areas of capital investment. You will provide strategic decision-making support related to both short-term and long-term real estate capital investments, construction schedules, and operating expenditures. Successful candidates for this role will need well-rounded experience in FP&A, leadership experience, strong interpersonal skills and be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional leaders. Knowledge with lease accounting, project cost to-date tracking, cash flows, financial flux analysis and cost accrual experience are preferred. Prior experience managing teams is required.
Finance Director - Facilities, Culinary, & Security Responsibilities
  • Lead Meta’s corporate real estate financial planning and ongoing reporting processes including the annual budget, forecasting for key expense areas, and 5-year financial plan development
  • Manage entire budgeting cycle, maintaining attention to detail and ensuring timelines are met with clear and comprehensive assumptions, analysis and plan roll-ups that link to Meta’s annual and long-term goals
  • Drive reporting that includes financial performance, key operating drivers, and executive-level explanations of variances and trends
  • Partner closely with Real Estate, HR, and Finance leadership as well as a wide spectrum of operational teams to identify and evaluate strategic opportunities, balancing between employee impact and resource prioritization, while managing our capacity models against a highly dynamic demand planning process
  • Provide financial expertise to global real estate development, design, facilities operations, amenities, transportation, culinary, and security teams
  • Work closely with the Fixed Asset Accounting team to ensure capital project finance controls compliance
  • will need strong understanding of relevant lease accounting to succeed
  • Support our company’s “return to office” plans and deliver finance thought leadership in the development of the future of our workspaces—balancing productivity, safety, and cost efficiency
Minimum Qualifications
  • 15+ years of corporate financial planning experience
  • Understanding of real estate development lifecycle, as well as the needs around managing facilities site operations and adjacent support functions
  • Experience building cross-functional relationships and partnering with senior leadership across organizations
  • Analytical skills to translate large amounts of data into both insights and recommendations
  • Communication skills to tailor messaging as required for audiences of varying level of seniority and technical expertise
  • Finance planning & accounting knowledge, on both balance sheet and P&L impact areas
  • Management experience leading teams through a wide spectrum of scope
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with negotiation and sourcing efforts, preferably with real estate acquisition or lease deals
  • Experience in building and analyzing “buy versus lease” financial models, specific to large scale capital investments and measuring indirect opportunity costs/benefits related to potential investments
  • Experience driving systems & tool development, specifically in measuring operational performance and KPIs
