Meta seeks a team player to serve as a Law Enforcement Outreach Manager to join our India team. The position will be responsible for developing and maintaining strategic relationships with law enforcement agencies, government authorities with an internet safety and security focus. They will also support this work on a global scale to help lead and participate in company wide, global work-streams in these areas. This is a great opportunity to join a team that works on complex and unique issues in an exciting, fast-paced environment. This position will entail frequent travel in India and occasional travel to other parts of the world.
Law Enforcement Outreach Manager - India Responsibilities
  • As a Law Enforcement Outreach Manager, you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with law enforcement, security officials, government authorities, and industry coalitions. This role involves developing and executing strategic programs focused on online safety and security in India while representing Meta’s positions on key law enforcement issues with various stakeholders
  • Relationship Management: Develop and manage strategic relationships with law enforcement, government, and industry partners
  • Advocacy & Representation: Represent Meta and articulate our stance on law enforcement matters to officials, policymakers, regulators, and civil society
  • Program Development & Execution: Design and implement country-specific programs on online safety, privacy, and security to enhance confidence amongst law enforcement and government agencies
  • Crisis Response: Manage tactical responses involving Meta in crisis situations involving law enforcement
  • Issue Monitoring & Analysis: Identify, monitor, and analyze law enforcement issues related to technology, social media, and local developments impacting user safety
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with legal, public policy, product, and communications teams to advance external understanding of law enforcement and online safety issues
  • Policy Education: Educate law enforcement authorities on Meta's policies regarding user privacy and legal request processing
  • Internal Policy Development: Collaborate with Meta's Legal Team and external counsel on the development and implementation of internal policies for handling legal requests from Indian authorities
  • Work with internal teams and global safety organizations to develop and enhance Meta’s mitigation efforts against frauds & scams, high risk harms and other integrity concerns and manage safety related issues in the region and coordinate efforts globally
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (advanced degree, including a law degree, preferred)
  • 8+ years of experience in strategic outreach with various stakeholders in law enforcement, security agencies, regulators, government bodies, data protection authorities, financial institutions, and/or internet industry associations
  • Demonstrated capability to work effectively in a fast-paced matrix environment, exercising sound judgment and maintaining composure in rapidly changing circumstances
  • High level of collaboration and cross-functional skills, with experience driving and managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills with experience addressing both small and large audiences
  • Fluency in English and at least one additional Indian language preferred
  • Willingness to work off-hours, overtime, weekends, and occasionally holidays to support emergency matters and interact with globally distributed company employees
  • Ability to frequently travel within India as needed with occasional travel outside the region
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technologically fluent with a commitment to Meta’s mission, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, start-up environment
  • Understanding of any one or more of the specific internet domains such as cybercrime, child safety, human trafficking, frauds and scams, illicit drugs/firearms or terrorism
  • Knowledge of Indian laws pertaining to law enforcement data requests, as well as regulations governing content on intermediary platforms
