Software Engineer, SXP Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain core backend and frontend software components, following our standard of the software engineering processes to design, develop, document, review, test, inspect, and release code.
  • Build software in the Meta stack using primarily Hack (PHP), React (JavaScript) and Python, producing high quality code with good test coverage with modern abstractions and frameworks when appropriate.
  • Use engineering skill sets in a business organization to drive meaningful business impact by looking at problems through an operational lens.
  • Partner with cross-functional product and analytics teams to influence and contribute to the direction of large scale strategic projects as well as solve ongoing operational problems at scale.
  • Communicate progress and plans, raising critical issues with peers, manager, and cross-functional partners in a timely manner.
  • Execute and complete tasks on well scoped projects with minimal supervision applying your judgement and problem solving skills.
  • Tackle increasingly complex tasks, proactively seeking out additional work when bandwidth allows.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, or related field and two years of work experience in job offered or in a computer-related occupation. Requires two years of experience in the following:
  • 1. Relational databases and NoSQL databases: MySQL or MongoDB
  • 2. Version Control systems: GIT or HG
  • 3. Track record delivering software using web technologies: Javascript, CSS or HTML
  • 4. Front-end developing using React or Angular
  • 5. Database Schema and Data Modeling
  • 6. Application logging and performance monitoring
  • 7. Building highly-scalable performant solutions
  • 8. Dependency based asynchronous and threaded execution systems.

$175,915/year to $200,200/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
