Design prototyper working on Surreal. This person would be working with design and working directly with researchers to build out new prototypes and experiences.
Research Engineer - Prototyping Responsibilities
  • Creating new machine perception experience on iOS and Android platform
  • Work with researchers to create proof of concept applications
  • Identifying needs for new tooling and examples to support algorithms developers
  • Build reusable iOS software components for interfacing with both our back-end platforms and AR devices
Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
  • Experience of developing machine perception apps on Mobile platform interfacing with AR hardware and Computer Vision components.
  • Experience of collaborating in cross domains such as research, designing and engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in programming in a relevant language
  • 3+ years experience in building research prototypes with various levels of fidelity
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience defining strategy and solving ambiguous problems through rapid iteration
  • Portfolio featuring examples of interactive prototyping with AR/VR/MR headset

$56.25/hour to $173,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
