Security Manager - Meta Ireland Oversight Security

Meta seeks a highly experienced and motivated manager to fill the role of Meta Ireland Oversight Security Manager in our Oversight Security Team. This team is dedicated to supporting Meta Platforms Ireland and WhatsApp Ireland through the operation of an oversight function to ensure the appropriateness of the security measures implemented for the secure processing of European User Data. The person in this role will provide oversight of the security for the entire Meta family of products (Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, Oculus). The Meta Ireland Oversight Security Manager will be responsible for leading a team which evaluates Security, Privacy and Regulatory requirements to not only inform pragmatic policy, standards, and guidelines, but determine the appropriateness of existing security measures in order to fulfill EU regulatory and legal obligations. This person will also be responsible for helping to design and iterate on the creation of security and privacy programs in a way that helps empower and maintain Facebook's culture of rapid innovation. In this role, you will stay informed about the dynamic regulatory landscape, industry trends and internal operations, and will communicate and drive delivery of innovative solutions for security and privacy at scale. This position requires a mix of broad business and technical acumen with strong people-management skills, the ability to inspire and influence decisions around security program design, risk management, security implementations and a polished ability to communicate with key executives, external regulators, and the public. Security Manager - Meta Ireland Oversight Security Responsibilities
  • Lead, build, retain, and develop a team of Information Security and Privacy professionals that are passionate about identifying, assessing, and mitigating security and privacy risk while empowering Facebook's rapid innovation and growth.
  • Support the operation of the Oversight Security Team by advising and guiding the other team members.
  • Support the team to develop and communicate policies, procedures, guidelines, and plans to internal stakeholders regarding security and privacy risk management.
  • Be meticulous, and support the team to be meticulous, about retaining evidence to demonstrate operation of compliance processes.
  • Create and operate robust, scalable programs to deliver policy and compliance objectives.
  • Design, implement, maintain, and improve programs to address key company risks and prepare internal teams for independent assessments against a wide variety of regulatory and compliance frameworks.
  • Find practical solutions to standardise and scale across Meta.
  • Provide robust assurance of the operational effectiveness of our compliance controls.
  • Define metrics to track program progress and maturity for various stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors throughout compliance assessments.
  • Understand technical implementation details necessary to assess general and situational Information security risk.
  • Be responsible for the development and oversight of required mitigation plans relating to information security and privacy risk.
  • Understand complex technical concepts and explain them to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Understand and appreciate legal and regulatory requirements and map them to technical requirements.
  • Support the preparation of responses to regulatory inquiries.
Minimum Qualifications
  • B.S. in computer science or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of work experience in information security, program/project management, or similar capacities.
  • 4+ years of people management experience.
  • Experience in Information Security and Privacy policy development and risk management in a technology context.
  • Knowledge of security and privacy controls across all security and privacy domains such as access management, encryption methods, vulnerability management, network security, etc.
  • Demonstrable experience independently investigating complex security matters, interpreting and mapping them to regulatory contexts and explaining the situation to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Written and verbal communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders and attention to detail. Written communication skill will be particularly relevant for this role.
  • Demonstrable leadership experience working and communicating results to senior management.
  • Experience developing and producing security metrics and reports that are meaningful and actionable across various audiences.
  • Conceptual, critical thinking, and sound judgment with strategic orientation and experience performing tactically.
  • Familiarity with technical knowledge appropriate to delivery of security and privacy protections.
  • Experience influencing stakeholders and partner teams, especially in collaborating with different individuals across the organisation and within other geographies.
  • Experience managing competing priorities and simultaneous/concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Great attention to detail with excellent leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity/experience with compliance programs such as GDPR, ISO27001, IS027018, SOC 2 and PCI
