Our Public Affairs team seeks an experienced and agile leader to support an array of cross-functional work addressing global strategic business priorities. This work includes advancing a new regulatory framework for the internet and driving critical partnerships to advocate for updating internet regulations. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to be in the front seat of one of Meta’s most strategic efforts. We have an incredibly strong cross-functional team tackling some of the most important challenges the company faces globally. To thrive in this role, you need an entrepreneurial spirit, and proven ability to help build and foster collaborative teams. The ideal candidate will bring significant management and leadership experience within a global organization or political campaign, or as an outside consultant, a successful track record driving a strategic cross-functional collaboration, and experience in the political arena.
Public Affairs Director Responsibilities
  • Act as a practical visionary leader who can communicate and execute our team’s mission into actionable plans.
  • Monitor the development of business issues that affect the company.
  • Develop strategies for addressing each issue and deploy resources to ensure management of issues.
  • Build best practices to ensure a consistent approach.
  • Partner with company leadership to align key marketing, communications, legislative and policy priorities across the enterprise.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 12+ years of experience in a leadership role in an Administration, on the Hill or in a government relations, campaign, or public policy position.
  • Broad knowledge and sound understanding of economic, political, public opinion, and business factors that shape policies and decision making.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Track record of demonstrated results in both political and corporate environments.
  • Exceptional leadership skills, a willingness to take initiative, be creative and demonstrate a high degree of skill and judgment while working within an environment that places a premium on collaboration.
  • Sound strategic and management skills, and be capable of creating and communicating a vision, both internally and externally.
  • Organizational leadership and management experience, with experience motivating others to advance goals, and effectively managing multiple projects or roles in a rapidly evolving environment.
  • Experience communicating complex concepts and programs into concise and credible messages at the highest levels of government and business, with a proven track record of delivering high volume and high-quality work.
  • Eagerness to execute a hands-on approach to build credibility, relationships, and knowledge within the company.
  • Experience exhibiting courage and conviction to challenge and defend ideas and strategies.
