Meta's Internal Audit (IA) team is seeking a leader to oversee audits related to Meta's Emerging Technology. The leader will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key business partners, providing project oversight, and managing and developing a team of IA professionals. We are searching for a highly qualified technical and people leader with extensive expertise in systems, analytics, operational audits, and people management. This leader will manage a portfolio that necessitates close collaboration with the Product, Engineering, Data Science, Data Engineering, Privacy, and Information Security teams. The ideal candidate must be a clear communicator, demonstrated experience working in, and highly effective within an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment.
Internal Audit Leader - Emerging Technology Responsibilities
  • Set governance, strategy, and project management expectations across the emerging tech function
  • Build relationships with key business partners across Product, Engineering, Security and Privacy teams within the Reality Labs organization, to understand their business and identify appropriate risk mitigations and value additive recommendations
  • Drive risk assessments for the function and participate in enterprise risk assessment and yearly audit planning processes
  • Manage and develop a team of audit professionals to execute audits and projects, providing direction and ongoing coaching and development
  • Bring risk-based thought leadership, leading practice frameworks for technical audits (e.g., Machine learning), audit process improvements, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the department
  • Collaborate with other IA functional leads to execute IA’s strategy and coordinate cross-team audit projects and initiatives
  • Effectively manage the relationship with the IA co-sourcing partner(s) to ensure execution as one team
  • Create credibility to be viewed and respected as a leader in the IA organization
Minimum Qualifications
  • BA/BS in Management Information systems, Accounting, Computer Science, Finance, Engineering, Data Science, Business or related field
  • 12+ years of experience with a public accounting firm or internal audit
  • Experience in leading or managing operational audits (such as technology, cybersecurity, resiliency, third-party risk management, privacy) and functional knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (both traditional AI and General AI), data science, engineering systems, or emerging technologies.
  • Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritization experience
  • Subject matter knowledge in operations, process, financial, and compliance risks
  • People Management - commitment and track record for developing and coaching people
Preferred Qualifications
  • Understanding of Meta Products and Operations: Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience with Meta's suite of products, services, and operational protocols.
  • Leadership and Development Skills: Proven experience in mentoring and coaching high-performing teams, with a focus on fostering professional growth within the team.
  • Experience Leveraging Data Analytics/Artificial Intelligence: Previous experience using data analytics/AI to streamline audit execution.
  • Influence in Matrixed Organizations: Demonstrated experience to navigate and influence within highly matrixed environments, effectively collaborating and communicating across various departments to achieve organizational goals.
  • Technology Expertise: Experience in auditing AI, technology, complex data pipelines, and advanced computing systems, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
  • Relationship Building: Exceptional experience to build and maintain relationships, establishing trust through consistent actions and a demonstrated understanding of business needs. Skilled at identifying opportunities and delivering substantial value to the business.
  • Adaptability: Thrives in dynamic, changing environments, demonstrating flexibility and agility to adapt to new challenges and ambiguities, ensuring sustained performance and innovation.
  • Professional auditing certifications, such as the CIA, CISA, CISSP, CRISC, CDPSE, Six Sigma, PMP

$165,000/year to $243,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
