We seek an Audio Systems Validation Engineer to join our Audio Experience Team. In this role, you will develop and manage operations in our audio labs. You will support both standardized verification and novel experiments. You will coordinate testing of products and prototypes, data collection, and lab maintenance. You will lead test method development, automation, and own our tools and methods strategy. You will collaborate across software, hardware, user experience teams, and with our Lab Infrastructure function. Your automation, documentation, and processes result in repeatable and reproducible test results, produced efficiently and presented in a consistent manner across product development teams and lab locations.
Audio Systems Validation Engineer Responsibilities
  • Conduct HW and SW testing on consumer electronics, product benchmarking, and data collection for algorithm tuning and development. Supervise day-to-day lab operations and train technicians on these tasks to deliver results aligned with product schedules.
  • Manage consistent test, data collection, and reporting procedures. Contribute to development of automation and lead test sequence design reviews.
  • Develop new test solutions and execute studies for audio technology innovation.
  • Take care of lab bandwidth and budget. Communicate future needs, both equipment and resources. Balance load across lab locations.
  • Manage contractors and vendors to complete lab equipment setup, maintenance, and calibration
  • Support product and audio technology demo setup
Minimum Qualifications
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with audio hardware testing and related tools, such as HATS, precision microphones, anechoic chambers
  • 4+ years of experience with at least two of Audio Precision, Listen Inc Soundcheck, HEAD Acoustics ACQUA
  • 3+ years of project, team, or facility management experience
  • Experience automating testing and data processing using Matlab and/or Python
  • Experience managing or mentoring technical staff
  • Effective communication, documentation, and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with laser displacement and vibrometery measurement (Keyence/Polytec).
  • Familiarity with Klippel diagnostics tools
  • Knowledge in hearing science and psychoacoustics to understand the relation between test results and perceived quality
  • Experience in Acoustics and Consumer Audio EE Architecture.
  • Knowledge of Music or Speech Enhancement Audio algorithms.
  • Experience developing audio algorithm test and validation
  • Experience with ITU, 3GPP, MS Teams, and other test standards and methodologies.

$129,000/year to $200,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual pay is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable. In addition to base salary, Meta offers benefits.
