This role is field personnel. As a Failure Analysis Engineer at Oculus, you will play an important role for determining rapid root cause analysis for issues occurred in new product development and reliability test. Failure Analysis Engineer Responsibilities
  • Define failure analysis action plan and perform detailed root cause analysis on technically complex failures from reliability test and NPI
  • Cross-correlate data from various techniques to drive towards conclusions
  • Prepare clear, logic and professional failure analysis report to help root cause finding
  • On-the-ground support at manufacturing partners sites
  • Work with external partner labs to supplement lab capability when necessary
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master degree or higher in physics, chemistry, materials science, mechanical engineering, or related field, PhD is preferred
  • 2+ years experience in failure analysis, material characterization, or product development
  • Hands-on work in one or multiple FA tools, including x-ray imaging (2D X-ray/CT Scan), microscopy, SEM, FTIR, sample preparation, XPS, etc.
  • Passion to learn new skills and experience
  • This position can have up to 30% domestic/international travel to external labs/manufacturing partner/US headquarter
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment
  • Project management skills
  • Knowledge in consumer electronics and high volume manufacturing environment
