The Meta Reality Labs (RL) team is developing future products in Virtual and Augmented Reality with breakthrough work in computer vision, speech, and machine learning that will enable groundbreaking experiences for consumers and businesses. The RL Trust organization enables world-class Privacy and Security solutions for Reality Labs products, raising the bar on Trust and creating platforms that make Privacy & Security simple and seamless for our Product teams to implement and manage across Reality Labs. Within the RL Trust organization, the RL Trust Security organization enables world-class security for Reality Labs products. This team consists of mission-minded individuals who are experts in the landscape of device and systems security, and are passionate about building capabilities and solutions to implement the correct safeguards and technical mitigations to ensure that our users’ security is honored across the Meta family of products. We work with RL Product and Meta’s Central Security teams to define, design, implement and manage these solutions at 1) Device HW, 2) OS, and 3) 1P/3P App layers. We’re looking for a Technical Program Manager to lead several initiatives on security enabling technologies for Meta products, including: 1) durable programs and tools for asset, vulnerability, and threat management, 2) standardization of security features and practices across devices. The key challenge is to ensure these systems and processes are adopted with zero friction by product teams, and that devices are shipped in time with the right security features for our customers. Candidate will work closely with our Engineering and Product Management partners to develop and follow through on multi-year Security roadmaps and help define what comes next.
Technical Program Manager - Reality Labs Security Responsibilities
  • Manage engineering programs that enhance security of Meta Reality Labs’ products and infrastructure.
  • Establish program management framework and process for managing and tracking deliverables to each team efficiently.
  • Identify product needs in technically complex areas, scope the requirements, and collaborate with Engineering to lay out end-to-end detailed schedules and plans.
  • Identify and align technical, business or process risks and mitigation strategies with options and tradeoffs.
  • Communicate and represent team’s work to leadership and framing discussions to gain feedback and alignment.
  • Foster partnership and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Develop, track, and communicate roadmaps, execution plans, proposals, status updates, and key decisions.
  • Provide security guidance to new projects and initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager, managing software programs from inception to launch and sunset.
  • Experience in formulating detailed schedules and planning technical programs or products from inception to delivery.
  • Experience developing software roadmaps for complex consumer products with focus on device security and/or vulnerability management.
  • Demonstrable experience of exercising technical expertise to simplify complex technical problems into easily executable and measurable outcomes.
  • B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • The candidate will have in-depth understanding of engineering solutions that enable world-class security for RL while improving user trust on our products.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience designing and implementing security systems for consumer devices, to protect our users and enforce security compliance.
  • Experience advocating for technical security solutions across functional domains.
  • Experience with application security tooling and processes, including code review, static code analysis, penetration testing, vulnerability management, or risk management.

$134,000/year to $196,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
