Public Affairs Manager, Youth and Well-being Responsibilities
  • Lead proactive media programs and campaigns to showcase Meta’s communication protections and tools.
  • Develop press strategies around high-profile issues and product launches in the US and internationally, including on topics like the prevention of child exploitation and CSAM sharing.
  • Build and manage relationships with the media and engage with the press, bloggers, opinion leaders, and the general public as a spokesperson.
  • Develop and write a wide range of communications materials including press plans, pitches, blog posts, reactive statements, and briefing materials.
  • Prepare and train spokespeople and staff for press briefings and speaking events.
  • Counsel cross functional partners in product, partnerships, data, community, and other groups within the company on communications considerations around consumer initiatives.
  • Collaborate with external PR agency teams to execute on policy press initiatives.
  • Domestic Travel Required: 20%.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Media, Communications, Business, History, or related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Requires 5 years of experience in the following:
  • 1. Consumer communications, marketing, digital communications, influencer engagements, or social media management
  • 2. Developing social media campaigns for parents, teens and policy makers
  • 3. Working in policy-related or political campaigns involving changing legislative and regulatory requirements
  • 4. Working with cross-functional stakeholders across product and public affairs teams
  • 5. Deep experience working with journalists on complex, critical stories
  • 6. Experience as a company spokesperson
  • 7. Deep understanding of the technology industry, with a focus on online safety.

$274,709/year to $279,620/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
