Reality Labs is dedicated to bringing Mixed Reality (MR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Metaverse products to people around the world. As MR technologies become more integrated into people’s daily lives, we want people to use an operating system across these devices that drives user confidence that they, and their data, are safe and protected. Trust fuels adoption and drives the extent to which these advancements enrich our lives. We seek a TPM who is experienced in building cross-functional relationships, managing and resolving competing prioritization and timelines, understanding code and working alongside engineers to help efficiently execute on legal/regulatory requirements, developing scorecards for a variety of trust work streams and aligning the work to a matrix of product program timelines, regularly updating leadership and leading escalations when needed.
Technical Program Manager, Horizon Operating System Product Trust Responsibilities
  • Lead Horizon OS level roadmapping, prioritization, and dependency discussions across Horizon OS horizontals, MR devices, and RL Trust in line with Reality Lab's product gates, OS software gates, and key program milestones (launches, announcements and GTM moments)
  • Partner closely with the Horizon OS Trust PM to lead the execution of x-Trust initiatives, especially for privacy and accessibility. This typically involves coordinating across Horizon OS/MR cross functional partners and Reality Labs Trust to understand evolving Legal, Regulatory, and Policy requirements and land those on product teams’ roadmaps without disrupting key device and OS program milestones.
  • Serve as the go-to subject matter expert for resolving technical ambiguity in the build-for-compliance process. Leverage experience in understanding technical details to help drive clarity when technical reviewers and engineering are not aligned on the evidence that’s needed to move the review forward. Escalate when needed to present options and resolve discrepancies, especially with respect to resource planning and timing.
  • Develop Playbooks for Product teams within their Product Groups (and potentially cross-organization) for implementing Trust requirements that come from Meta Central (Product Development Process and Accessibility) and RL Trust.
  • Ensure that Trust is clearly integrated into the Product Development Process for the product group.
  • Work across Legal and engineering to convert the Legal team’s requirements into implementation requirements for engineering/product teams.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years experience as a technical program manager, engineering manager, or product management, leading development of software or Trust/Privacy initiatives
  • Experience delivering technical programs or products from inception to delivery
  • Knowledge of software and hardware product development processes
  • Demonstrated experience with delivering complex software initiatives
  • Experience in software engineering process definition and improvements at scale
  • Experience in team leadership, decision making, and presenting to large groups
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working on Privacy, Policy, Trust and Accessibility features
  • Experience with hardware and software development on consumer/wearable devices
  • Experience with MR technologies
