Level Designer - Games Responsibilities

Work closely with the Art Team, Leads, and Creative Directors to develop video games for Meta.

Help ensure video game levels are highly polished, are creatively entertaining, and progressing smoothly.

Apply expertise with Unreal and Maya or other major 3D modeling programs to design and create level layout plans from paper to 3D block-outs.

Create fun and compelling gameplay spaces that deliver on the goals of intense combat and engaging exploration.

Script levels using Unreal blueprints.

Work alongside the art team to create the level's feel and overall composition.

Manage all design related assets and data associated with each assigned level.

Thoroughly understand level design pipeline from paper to final level and understand the hardware limitations and how to design around those limitations.

Identify design issues for level design and flow.

Responsible for developing video games features including narratives and storytelling.

Design core features and specify innovative game-role play mechanics.

Guide and collaborate with production staff to produce games as designed.

Minimum Qualifications

Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Games, Entertainment Technology, or a related field and three years of experience in the job offered or in the game industry or in a Game Designer or related occupation.

Position requires three years of experience in the following:

1. Understanding of Narrative and storytelling in video games

2. 3D Game Engine like Unreal

3. 3D apps for blockout like Maya

4. Visual scripting like Unreal Blueprints

5. 2D editing software like Photoshop or Illustrator

6. Strong design sense/principles of game design.

$159,432/year to $165,810/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
