Meta is seeking a Production Systems Design Engineer responsible for designing and managing the implementation of the next-generation video and event production spaces. The ideal candidate will have a proven track-record of event and studio design, hardware and cutting-edge technologies. As a design engineer, you will be responsible for scaling and innovating core designs for audio/visual and lighting systems, interfacing and managing external vendors and building efficient and reliable integrations. You will work alongside stakeholders to gather requirements, develop and iterate and deliver in an environment governed by stringent timelines. The ideal candidate also possesses a passion for emerging technologies and research and is not satisfied with the status quo. You will be designing spaces with unique control platforms, video conferencing systems, audio systems, camera systems, lighting systems and state of the art display technologies.
Production Systems Design Engineer Responsibilities
  • Proactively scopes and designs our video production, event and other specialty production spaces
  • Works with internal stakeholders to roadmap and plan for scaled services across the globe.
  • Leverages an extensive network of industry professionals to research and develop emerging technologies and how they can be utilized in our spaces
  • Manages and reports on a multi-million dollar design budget. Acts as a financial steward for Meta throughout our design process
  • Delivers annual design packs and holds regular reviews to ensure adherence to requirements.
  • Works closely with external vendors and holds them to account for deliverables.
  • Collaborates across a broad set of teams within Meta to ensure compliance, product roadmaps and technical security.
  • Acts as a liaison between technical and non-technical teams.
  • Builds and delivers designs that adapt to changing and scaling business environments and requirements.
  • Innovate and enhance the reliability, functionality, and quality of Meta’s audiovisual systems.
  • Deliver & maintain high-level system design standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams on audio-visual related
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Proactively seeks emerging technologies in audiovisual and related fields.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience designing complex production systems
  • 4+ years of experience with video and event equipment, video conferencing systems, broadcast AV, routing and control systems, LED/LCD displays, projection systems, live streaming infrastructure, custom audio visual installations, and other related technologies.
  • 4+ years experience in project management design in enterprise organizations, studios, entertainment/production companies or similar.
  • Experience working globally and cross-functionally with internal and external clients and partners
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with dynamic business priorities and a proven track record of managing resource and budgetary headwinds.
  • CTS (Certified Technical Specialist) Certification
  • Revit & AutoCad experience
  • Experience managing a large concurrent project load within budget.
  • Proven track record of complex project management and can present OKRs (Objectives and Key Results), milestones and deliverable data to key stakeholders/Meta leadership.
  • Proven track-record, leadership, and strategic skills in prioritizing evolving initiatives in a fast-paced, high-tech environment.
  • Extensive experience with vendor management.
  • Demonstrated communication skills, with the capacity to describe complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Passion for industry trends and cutting-edge technology
  • Demonstrated experience adapting language across a broad set of technical and non-technical audiences.

$129,000/year to $185,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
