In this role, you will be responsible for owning manufacturing processes at contract manufacturing partners including laying out floor plan, setting up & Qualifying FATP lines, driving yield and UPH improvement, developing and implementing quality systems, driving cost and cycle time reduction, and driving ramp and mass production (MP) readiness. You will be a key member of the Technical Operations team and will partner closely with Hardware Engineering, Quality, Test Engineering and our Manufacturing partners driving NPI manufacturing process readiness to ensure new products are ramped and launched on time.
Manufacturing Technical Manager Responsibilities
  • Ideal candidates are those with experience in high volume mass production. Candidates must have manufacturing process experience. This must also be complemented with interpersonal and communication skills, keen focus on driving business results, experience working in ambiguous environments, and willingness to collaborate and optimize overall business objectives. Other areas of responsibilities include:
  • Work with contract manufacturing (CM) partners on yield improvement and process troubleshooting
  • Work with CM partner to design and layout the FATP (final assembly, test, and pack-out) line by applying lean and Six Sigma technology
  • Develop manufacturing processes at the factory and drive line qualifications by working with XFN teams and CM partners
  • Work with XFN team (Hardware Engineering, Operations and manufacturing partner teams) to drive ramp and MP readiness
  • Drive cost and cycle time reduction through line balancing, and line automation
  • Drive FACA (Failure Analysis Corrective Action) and yield bridge to mass production
  • Influence product manufacturability, testability, serviceability, reliability, flexibility and cost effectiveness by coordinating cross-functional teams during early development and ramp
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in Operations engineering activities
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in technical program management
  • Demonstrated technical skills and experience, including a detailed understanding of Final Assembly, Test, Pack and SMT (Surface Mount Technology) processes
  • Background driving China-based manufacturers, remotely and in-person
  • Experience in using process driven and analytical approaches to problem-solving (Six Sigma, 8D, FMEA, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of GD&T, data analysis and statistics
  • Proven bottom line project management experience (Planning, Cost, & Delivery)
  • Proven interpersonal and communication skills, Fluent in Mandarin and English
  • Experience to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Travel up to 50% in Asia Pacific region
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with optical systems and or clean room setup
  • Experience with automated system bring up and qualification
  • Data analysis using JMP or Minitab
  • PMP Certification
  • Tolerance Analysis
