- Play a key role in driving code and architecture reviews as well as large cross-company privacy reviews of products and features.
- Conduct technical reviews for new features and identify privacy concerns.
- Work closely with technical and non-technical teams, including Engineering, Product and Legal.
- Provide product teams with the guidance and best practices to help protect user’s privacy and mitigate any risk.
- Work closely with Security and Privacy leaders to help define goals that are properly aligned to company-wide goals.
- Define and articulate a clear vision for privacy, and influence leaders across all of Facebook to adopt a balanced view of product and privacy goals in overall decision-making.
- Master's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 3 years of work experience in the job offered or in a computer related occupation
- Requires 3 years of experience in the following:
- Coding in Python, PHP, Java, or C/C++ including code maintenance and review
- Building software applications with secure features
- Communicating technical issues and their implications to other areas of the business
- Ability to analyze and implement complex systems
- Experience applying security/privacy preserving technologies, including but not limited to anonymization, encryption, and access management
- Has an understanding of software engineering best practices such as security/privacy by design as applicable to their role
- Knowledge of data protection principles and best practices
- Ability to conduct impact assessments and identify security/privacy risks
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and
- Experience in working with cross-functional teams and collaborating with stakeholders
