As an Electrical Engineer on the Wearable Team, you will design, build, and test prototype electrical systems for future consumer experiences within Meta’s Product Portfolio. You will become part of a team exploring new concepts through fast iterative prototyping. You will work cross-functionally with teams that will dynamically change depending on the problem and potentially include mechanical, optical, firmware, software. We want people who work well in teams, can take a board definition and implement with electrical system development, and can transition these designs into a high-volume consumer products.
We’re looking for system or board level Electrical Engineers with experience in high volume consumer products or developing technology leading prototypes to inform Reality Lab’s roadmap. You should have experience in developing mixed domain high-speed and high power circuit boards, consumer product form factor design, troubleshooting at the board and system level, and should have familiarity with consumer product development processes. In the role you will be working with emerging technologies across the Wearable space with the opportunity to learn from the industry leaders and help Meta achieve its goal of helping people feel connected, anytime, anywhere
Electrical Engineer Responsibilities
- Support the electrical system development, qualification and system integration from the concept phase to mass production.
- Support system stakeholder for electrical system design, performing proving for various design options by designing the experiments.
- Perform bring up, debug, troubleshooting.
- Support manufacturing and assembly build. failure mode analysis, root cause diagnosis, and system-level problem solving across the various project phases.
- Work closely with suppliers and influence their roadmap and uplevel their capabilities to ensure their deliverables can match the product roadmap.
- Effective communication, collaboration and partnership with colleagues, cross-functional partners in evolving development environments.
Minimum Qualifications
- 8+ years of system design or consumer electrical system design.
- Bachelor or above degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field.
- Proven knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals.
- Experience with schematic and board design using Cadence OrCAD or equivalent.
- Experience with use of oscilloscopes, high speed digital test equipment, logic analyzers, or function generators.
- Describe complex features and/or systems in detail and communicate technical information effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in delivering high volume consumer products or similar experience.
- Experience in subsystem design of power and display interface (MIPI, eDP, etc), SW-FW development, lab testing.
- Experience with power troubleshooting.
- Experience with display electrical subsystem design/testing/implementation and system integration, display validation and testing including manufacturing test.
- Experience with EMI and ESD risks and mitigation techniques.
- Experience with analog/mixed signal IC design, fabrication, and validation process.
- Experience designing for HDI rigid PCB and HDI FPC for high volume cost optimized applications.
