Meta is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Create AIs team to build products using Large Language Models (LLM). We are looking for recognized experts in NLP, with experience in areas like large model training; reinforcement learning; LLM alignment; explainable AI; language model evaluation; multilingual and multimodal modeling; and/or responsible data processing. The ideal candidate will have an interest in producing and applying new science to help us build innovative and engaging products with large language models.
Software Engineer, Language - Generative AI Responsibilities
  • Collaborate, and execute on research that pushes forward the state of the art in responsible large language model research
  • Directly contribute to experiments, including designing experimental details, writing reusable code, running evaluations, and organizing results
  • Develop methodology and benchmarks to evaluate different approaches
  • Work with a large and globally distributed team
Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
  • Experience holding an industry, faculty, or government researcher position
  • Experience developing machine learning algorithms or machine learning infrastructure in Python
  • Experience writing software and executing complex experiments involving large AI models and datasets
  • A PhD in AI, computer science, data science, or related technical fields
Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct experience in generative AI, and LLM research.
  • First author publications experience at peer-reviewed AI conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, CVPR, ICML, ICLR, ICCV, and ACL)

$117,000/year to $173,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual pay is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable. In addition to base salary, Meta offers benefits.
