Meta is looking for a privacy professional to join its Product Compliance and Product org as Asia Pacific (APAC) Regional Lead (excluding India) for the Meta Platforms, Inc. Data Protection Office (Global DPO). We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment, is skilled at navigating complex cross-functional initiatives and is excited to engage internally and externally to support privacy at Meta. The Global Data Protection Officer is accountable for advising on and monitoring compliance with the applicable global data protection laws. In this role, you will represent the Global DPO in the APAC region (excluding India), and interact directly with cross-functional teams to fulfill the responsibilities of the Global DPO. Successful candidates have experience interacting with external regulators as representatives of the company. They are motivated and driven self-starters who see the value of creating inclusive spaces when solving hard problems and recognize diverse perspectives. You will also help design and implement processes to ensure the DPO function sufficiently demonstrates oversight over the company’s compliance with applicable data protection laws in the Asia-Pacific region. This is a highly collaborative role. Success will require strong cross-functional collaboration, excellent project/program management skills, and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail. The ability to thrive in ambiguity while bringing clarity and standardization to processes and functions is critical to success.
