This position is responsible for technical planning services in support of key departments throughout the Global Meta real estate portfolio. Types of technical spaces in the portfolio include but are not limited to: mechanical & electrical engineering labs, machine shops, server/automation suites, research and development labs, demo/user testing interface areas, client installations and logistic / warehousing locations. The role requires coordination with other planning team members (technical planners, occupancy planners and strategic planning leads) and cross functional partners including but not limited to construction project managers (internal and external), facilities operations and engineering teams, and internal clients (technical or lab managers) to successfully deliver world-class technical space to enable business growth. This role will work with client teams to identify, validate and guide planning efforts for auditing, creating, and decommissioning technical spaces.
Global Technical Planner Responsibilities
  • Support a Global Portfolio of technical spaces serving as a subject matter expert for equipment processes and equipment.
  • Build relationships with key lab leads, managers and lab users to understand business drivers, equipment requests and protocols. Develop and pitch solutions and facilitate alignment with broader strategic real estate plans.
  • Support request intake process by performing triage on incoming requests, develop feasibility studies in partnership with engineering and projects teams, providing executable solutions for complex problems.
  • Effectively communicate updates and decision levers to all levels of the organization to drive alignment, decision making in alignment with strategic goals.
  • Proactive planning for technical resources, tools and space, accurate tracking of key lab or technical metrics.
  • Drive functional lab planning by translating client requirements into comprehensive technical program that takes into account key adjacencies, knowledge of technical processes, and real estate constraints.
  • Partner with Client to develop and manage the equipment list by gathering equipment cut-sheets and develop specifications.
  • Serve as conduit between client and project team for Requests for Information (RFIs) and Submittals as needed to inform the project build and functional room requirements.
  • In partnership with client, projects, and Cross Functional partners drive equipment procurement timelines, custom equipment submittal review, equipment installation schedule. Provide regular updates back to client teams to ensure schedule and lab installation.
  • Ongoing validation of requirements related to technical workflows, including opportunities for shared resources and efficiencies across team.
  • Manage internal and external vendors to achieve project goals
  • Some travel will be required to support Global Real Estate initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 8+ years in project management, facilities planning, lab services or related field.
  • Subject matter expertise in technical environment planning considerations, workflows, infrastructure and equipment - includes demonstrated experience engaging in translation of diverse equipment types into built environment.
  • Experience in high-tech hardware research spaces, critical facilities, fabrication and prototyping facilities.
  • Experience in the implementation of workplace strategies and the capacity to translate business requirements into space requirements for the business units.
  • Experience working with all levels of the employees and external vendors.
  • Proven customer service skills including organizational, interpersonal and track record of crafting clear and concise emails, reports, documents for a broad range of stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Architecture or Related Field
  • Capacity to interpret and edit plans via Bluebeam or similar software - CAD experience a plus
  • Working knowledge of industry standards, building code and safety standards related to technical planning.
  • Experience developing and managing complex schedules using SharePoint or Microsoft Project

$142,000/year to $200,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
