Software Engineer Responsibilities
- Design and implement components at lower levels of the embedded system, e.g. linux kernel, synchronization primitives, resource allocators, memory management, security, I/O systems, persistence, etc.
- Design and implement drivers and services that operate efficiently in a constrained environment yet when pressed can efficiently deliver large volumes of data with lowlatency and high-bandwidth.
- Own the definition of one or more work streams focused on hardware bring up, peripheral drivers and communication, performance management and optimization.
- Debug complex, system-level, multi component issues that typically span across multiple layers from Linux kernel to application.
- Lead debugging and performance tuning exercises using specialized tools (like GDB, simpleperf etc.) that span multiple hardware/firmware/software teams.
- Understand software components from multiple partner teams, lead the integration of those components into the unified product code base, and drive their continued development.
- Doing technical reviews and providing feedback on new product hardware designs to partner electrical teams.
- Design and Implement hardware abstraction layer for audio hardware for Linux.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires a Master’s degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or software engineering role. Position requires 2 years of experience in the following:
- 1) Coding using primarily C, C++ or Java language
- 2) Using databases to build a telemetry system for quality monitoring
- 3) System-level programming, multithreading and synchronization, resource management techniques and understanding of underlying operating system principles
- 4) Data structures, algorithms, and software design optimized for low level Operating System Services
- 5) Working with large source control systems like git and repo.

$213,876/year to $240,240/year + bonus + equity + benefits
Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
