- Lead a research team to develop advanced lithium-ion batteries for next-generation XR devices, from concept to prototype.
- Define a lithium-ion battery research roadmap and drive execution with leading research and manufacturing partners.
- Transfer promising technologies from Research to Product
- support NTI and NPI projects.
- Manage a battery research laboratory
- coordinate capital project planning, execution, and lab safety.
- Develop electrochemical models of Li-ion batteries and cell components. Use simulation to inform research roadmap and guide project execution.
- PhD degree or equivalent experience in Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, Chemical, Material, or Mechanical Engineering, or similar discipline or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years industry experience in project leadership for battery development
- 5+ years industry experience in battery development for EV or consumer electronics devices.
- 5+ years industry experience in developing physics-based battery models for consumer electronics or electric vehicles
- 5+ years experience designing and executing experiments for model parameterization and validation.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in leadership and project management
- Experience with battery cell materials, chemistry, and manufacturing processes for consumer electronics
- Experience with electrochemical cell characterization, cyclic voltammetry (CV), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and familiarity with Maccor/Arbin or other equivalent testing systems.
