What did you take away as the most important thing you learned from your summer internship?

I could talk about all the things I learned this summer for hours, but if I had to summarize the most important ones, I would say that I learned how to collaborate with a cross-functional team and the value of good communication with teammates. I also had a great time learning about all the different roles on our team and their connection to product design.

What was your favorite thing about the team you worked on?

On the social impact products design team, I worked within the area of responsible innovation and ethics. This was a great opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look on how a group of people can help thousands of technologists learn how to build more inclusively and responsibly. Working with my team taught me how important it is for us as designers to always think about how to make our products as accessible as possible. This is a lesson that will have a great impact on my career and that I will always take with me wherever I go.

What surprised you the most about your internship at Meta?

The supportive culture – from my first day in the office, I met so many people willing to guide me through the program. It was amazing to see everyone in the office working together and helping each other. This made my experience even better and I am really happy that I got the opportunity to be a part of the company this summer.

Anything else you would like to share about your summer internship at Meta?

It was unforgettable. I've grown as a designer and as a person. I was given constant opportunities to show my skills and potential. I never felt intimidated or underestimated. I was always welcomed in conversations and my opinions were valued. I was treated as a professional and encouraged to explore multiple opportunities. I don't think I could have had such a good experience anywhere else and for that and many more reasons, I am infinitely grateful to Meta and all the people who helped me get to where I am today.
Working at Meta was a dream of mine for years, and after working for a few months at the company, I can say that it exceeded all my expectations. I leave with only positive memories and the desire to come back.
