Notice Regarding Automated Employment Decision Tools in New York City
Please note that Meta may leverage automated employment decision tools (AEDT) that use artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies in connection with applications for employment in New York City.
Meta uses these technologies to process internal information as well as information that you provide to Meta during your application and interview including your education, skills and experience that may be relevant to the roles to which you have applied or for which we think you would be interested.
Such technologies are used to help recruiters and hiring managers to efficiently review applications by suggesting or highlighting candidates for consideration. Final hiring decisions are made by hiring managers or members of human resources. Meta trains recruiters and hiring managers to recognize and mitigate biases and help prevent them.
Meta retains your personal information for as long as is reasonably necessary for the business purposes described in Meta’s Global Candidate Privacy Statement. If you are successful in your application for a position at Meta, and choose to accept a position, we retain the personal information you provide during the application process, and information about your application process, as part of your employee record.
As required by New York City Local Law 144, an independent auditor has reviewed the AEDT. The results are available here.
