Research Manager Responsibilities
  • • Manage and work closely with product teams to identify research topics and collaborate with others to make the best experiences for Facebook’s users
  • • Use qualitative and quantitative research to answer meaningful and impactful questions for Facebook’s product and design and execute studies using a wide variety of qualitative and quantitative research methods to address both user behavior and attitudes
  • • Generate insights that both fuel ideation and evaluate designs
  • • Work cross-functionally with analytics, business, design, engineering, marketing and product management
  • • Communicate results and illustrate suggestions in compelling and creative ways
  • • Utilize understanding of quantitative, behavior analysis, and statistical concepts to analyze data and design studies that address both user behavior and attitudes
  • • Investigate and analyze characteristics of human behavior and performance as it relates to the use of technology through studies, surveys, and social research studies
  • • Apply expertise in behavior science, psychology, and survey research to collaborate on design objectives
  • • Collect and analyze user behavior data through a variety of channels
  • • Analyze and draw conclusions from the data collected and communicate the results in compelling ways
Minimum Qualifications
  • • Employer will accept a Ph.D. degree in Psychology, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field and 24 months of work experience in job offered or in a market research or survey research-related occupation. Experience must include 6 months of experience in the following:
  • • Collecting and analyzing user behavior data collected through variety of research methods
  • • Performing research using a wide variety of qualitative and quantitative methods to identify actionable and relevant insights
  • • Designing and executing studies that address both user behavior and attitudes
  • • Working cross-functionally with analytics, business, design, engineering, marketing and product management teams
  • • Planning, designing, and executing cross-functional workshops, design sprints, and research synthesis sessions
  • • Translating research findings into product ideas that are communicated to leadership
  • • Mentoring, overseeing, and providing guidance to other researchers
  • • Knowledge of survey methods, including data manipulation and cleaning, descriptive, and inferential statistics (hypothesis testing, regression, and structural equation modelling)
  • • Knowledge of statistical program/programming languages (R, Python, SPSS, or SQL)
