As a member of the Display Design organization at Facebook Reality Labs, you will be responsible for managing a team developing and productizing the display engine that is at the core of delivering transformative experiences in Meta AR products. You will join an agile team that is laser-focused on incubating winning prototypes, establishing new process capabilities with supply-chain partners, and releasing product sub-systems that are fully hardened for high-volume manufacturing (HVM). We are seeking a Display Engineering Manager experienced with leading cross-functional hardware engineering teams to manage maturation, requirements, and respective risks to the display engine; and focused on execution while providing clear and effective communication to remove barriers across teams.
Display Engineering Manager Responsibilities
  • Grow and manage an energetic, diverse, and driven team comprised of optical, mechanical and photonics engineers.
  • Collaborate broadly across the organization to design, produce, qualify and deliver the display engine.
  • Lead the display engine system requirements definitions, flow down requirements to component level & resolve requirements discrepancies at the various levels.
  • Collaborate with strategic sourcing on supplier selection of system assembly and sub-components.
  • Lead and manage supplier engagement through engineering development and qualification.
  • Drive design verification, testing, and troubleshooting process to correlate with optical modeling and metrology, and between sub-system performance and system performance.
Minimum Qualifications
  • BS in Engineering, Physics, Optics, Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in opto-mechanical integration and display system design.
  • 5+ years experience growing and managing multi-disciplinary R&D Hardware teams.
  • Experience with multiple full life cycle product launches.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with design/manufacturing of small form-factor sensing or imaging systems.
  • 10+ years of experience in research or advanced optics development.

$196,000/year to $269,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
