As a Firmware Engineer on the Meta Reality Labs (RL) hardware team, you will design, build and test firmware to create transformative experiences for users of Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality products. Firmware for RL systems spans multiple target classes, requiring collaboration across multiple engineering disciplines (electrical, mechanical, optical, firmware and software) and directly impacting user immersion. You will become part of a team exploring new concepts through analytical modeling and fast iterative prototyping. We value people who work well in teams, can brainstorm ideas, are able to drive a concept into a prototype and can envision how that prototype could transition into a high-volume consumer product. We are seeking a Firmware Engineer who has experience in consumer electronics, knowledge of embedded systems and a passion for working on new hardware. This position has a 6 month duration. All candidates are expected to commit to a consecutive 6 month timeframe for successful completion of the program. At the end of the term, those participants who have demonstrated their ability to succeed and make an impact at Meta will be considered for a full-time position. Roles are filled as candidates are identified. This program is open to all candidates who have relevant professional experience and have been out of the workforce for 2 years or longer immediately prior to the start of the program. New graduates with less than 1 year since matriculation, please apply for open positions through the students and grads career page.
