The Financial Planning & Analysis team manages Facebook’s entire budget of revenue and expense. We focus on using our unique view into ‘the numbers’ to see trends and opportunities that are developing within Facebook and within related industries. Successful candidates for this team have a bias toward action, have exceptional partnership and communication skills, and know how to balance getting the details right while still moving fast. Facebook is seeking an experienced FP&A Manager who will act as the primary business partner for engineering and cross-functional partners in managing their team’s operating budgets and headcount. The Foundation team supports the design, procurement, deployment, maintenance, and de-manufacturing of Facebook’s server fleet. This includes functions like Sourcing Operations & Engineering (SoE), Technical Program Management (TPM), Hardware Engineering, Technology Strategy, Capacity Analysis & Engineering (CEA), Infra Data Science (IDS) and several others. The Infrastructure Engineering teams provide support the tools and skills to run a web-scale datacenter operation & server fleet. These include Production Engineering, Development Infra, Security Infra & others. A successful candidate needs to be experienced working with engineering leaders to predict, source and manage the resources they need to run high-performing teams, be experienced with headcount and contract worker planning, working with HR, Recruiting and People Ops and be passionate about managing a high-performing team and is not afraid to dig into the details to help their team members craft solutions.
Finance Manager, Foundation & Infrastructure Engineering Responsibilities
  • Create strong business partnerships with business partners across Foundation and Infra Engineering teams
  • Own process management across Foundation, Infra Engineering & Fleet Ops planning for budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning
  • Run the monthly close process, working with a Center of Excellence team & Accounting, and ensure consolidations & commentary are completed across the team
  • Work on the annual headcount planning process, collaborating with a central allocations team, HR, Recruiting, and Mission Control (People Ops)
  • Lead and manage the F&IE team and set the priorities for individuals and the team
  • Provide hands-on analytic support and develop actionable insights that will influence key decision makers to manage resource needs
  • Collaborate with business partners to plan and handle unforeseen resourcing needs via a budget management and contingency process
  • Evaluate financial and headcount implications of any M&A activity in the F&IE space
  • Review, establish and enforce financial controls over large areas of infrastructure OpEx spending
  • Review and provide financial analysis into large deals including large services agreements
  • Work with the Fleet Analytics team to develop long-range driver-based models for Foundation related OpEx
  • Help business partners gain key insights into spend through analyses and reporting
  • Drive process improvements (including automation) by partnering with up-stream process owners and enhance current tools/systems related to financial management
  • Have owned the budget/forecasting process for both OpEx and headcount planning, with a disciplined and collaborative approach to both
Minimum Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, business operations, or finance, including 3+ years of FP&A experience
  • 3+ years of direct people management experience in a high-performing environment
  • Experience working and problem solving independently, organizing workload and priorities, and completing tasks on time
  • Experience partnering with and influencing functional leaders
  • Experience with PowerPoint, Excel, Google Docs, Oracle, SQL and Hyperion
  • Experience in applicable accounting concepts and financial planning
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience as a finance partner to Engineering leaders
  • Advanced degree such as an MBA or MS in quantitative field
  • Excels in navigating through ambiguity and unstructured problems
