In this role, the DFx Manufacturing Engineer will develop and qualify automated assembly processes for Meta hardware products by using advanced robotics, computer vision, and advance sensing technology. This candidate will partner closely with Hardware Engineering, Quality, Test Engineering and our Manufacturing partners to deliver innovative products. DFx Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities
  • Partner with Product Design Engineers to identify and resolve manufacturing challenges by following best DFx practices and principles.
  • Develop automated (or hybrid) assembly processes at the factory and to drive line, equipment and fixtures qualifications, line layout optimization and throughput requirement
  • Work closely with the contract manufacturer and automation vendors to develop new technology in automation to improve both machine performance and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams during the NPI phase, making sure automation developments are within the overall project schedule and cost budget.
  • Continually tracking the latest in manufacturing technologies and processes in order to leverage them for Meta products.
  • Capture all build issues during engineering build, work out corrective action with cross function team
  • Support cost reduction and sustaining activities
Minimum Qualifications
  • Full-time BSME or equivalent (MSME, MSIE desired)
  • 5+ years in engineering role with experience in FATP assembly process/Automation development/Product design
  • Experience in realizing consumer electronics product in mass production which involves precise mechanical parts assembly and high cosmetic requirements
  • Experience in complex automation development, including automation layout, cycle time, and motions system qualification
  • Experience in advanced analysis & problem-solving techniques including DOE, failure analysis, CpK, GR&R, PFMEA etc.
  • Fluent in written and spoken Mandarin and English
  • Ability to communicate effectively in worldwide environment
  • Able to understand and challenge tolerance stack ups for assemblies to meet gap/step requirement. Working knowledge of GD&T, data analysis using JMP a plus
  • Proficient in the use of 3D mechanical design tools. Such as Pro-E, NX or Catia etc.,
  • Moderate travel within Mainland China with some travel to Asia Pacific region and US
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experiences in development and qualification of full automation lines
  • Experience in robotics programming and simulation.
  • Experience in computer vision and sensors application in the automation line
