Research Scientist Responsibilities
  • Research and develop eye tracking models and algorithms and implement them in software
  • Build simulation tools to assess the expected performance of the eye tracking models and algorithms
  • Build physical prototypes in collaboration with hardware engineers and validate real-world performance against simulations
  • Design data collection protocols for eye tracking prototype evaluation
  • Consider the architectural tradeoffs for eye tracking in VR and AR devices
  • Communicate and document research agenda, progress, and results
  • Collaborate effectively with researchers and engineers across diverse disciplines and teams
  • Contribute to defining the eye tracking research roadmap
Minimum Qualifications
  • Employer will accept a PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field. Position also requires completion of a university-level course/research project/internship/thesis, or 6 months of experience in the following:
  • Development of eye tracking models and/or algorithms
  • Understanding of geometrical and/or visual optics
  • 3-D geometry and/or 3-D reconstruction
  • Numerical optimization
  • Model/system calibration
  • C/C++, Python, and/or Matlab
  • Working at the intersection of software and hardware
  • Communicating complex research in a clear, precise, and actionable manner, demonstrated by theses, publications in top journals and presentations at top eye tracking, computer vision or machine learning conferences such as ETRA, CVPR, ICCV, or ECCV
