Facebook’s Sustainability team drives sustainability strategy, programs and engagement across the company and with our partners. We seek an experienced Program Manager to lead sustainable design & construction coordination for a portfolio of data center projects in North America and support initiatives that reduce our greenhouse gas footprint and increase our positive impact in the communities where we build. The successful candidate will have strong experience with LEED and be familiar with a wide range of green building standards.
Data Center Sustainability Program Manager Responsibilities
  • Communicate sustainability requirements to design and construction teams and hold them accountable for exceptional outcomes.
  • Manage external consultants and assure sustainability objectives are accomplished.
  • Build tools and resources that help design and construction teams streamline implementation of our sustainability strategy.
  • Develop strategy and programmatic standardizations for retrofit updates of our operational data centers.
  • Research and pilot new technologies that improve the sustainability performance of Facebook data centers.
  • Track industry standards and emerging trends to drive long-term strategy.
  • Up to 15% travel.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, environmental studies, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of work experience managing design, construction, and/or corporate sustainability programs with an emphasis on the built environment and supply chain management.
  • Quantitative, qualitative, and program management skills.
  • Technical experience with principles of supply chain circularity, retrofit design and construction, zero waste, and embodied carbon.
  • Experience delivering projects aligned with large scale corporate goals through influence, cross-functional collaboration and clear communication.
  • Experience influencing cross functional stakeholders with indirect authority to build consensus on complex topics.
  • Experience collaborating and communicating effectively, demonstrating communication skills and attention to detail.
  • LEED Accredited Professional, Building Design & Construction and/or Operations & Maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, environmental studies, or a related field strongly preferred.
  • 3+ years experience managing people and leading teams in a matrixed organization.
