Associate General Counsel, Human Exploitation & Emerging Risks Compliance
Meta seeks a highly motivated team player to serve as Associate General Counsel, Human Exploitation & Emerging Risks Compliance. This position will play a key role in advising on Facebook’s safety compliance program, specific to our human exploitation (e.g., sex trafficking, human smuggling, forced labor) policies and other safety risk vectors highlighted in our Code of Conduct and Human Rights Policy. Associate General Counsel, Human Exploitation & Emerging Risks Compliance Responsibilities
  • Lead on developing programmatic safeguards to mitigate legal risks
  • Provide legal advice and support for product and second line compliance teams with respect to our compliance obligations under SESTA-FOSTA and other safety obligations
  • Collaborate and align with relevant functions e.g. Product, Legal Risk Management, Investigations, to optimize, draft, review and implement safety compliance policies, processes, controls and training
  • Support second line monitoring and testing teams as they evaluate controls
  • Advise on safety compliance risks for product and supplier operations
  • Conduct internal compliance investigations and risk assessments and support external audits
  • Undertake special projects and support other safety compliance program initiatives, including child safety
Minimum Qualifications
  • J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one U.S. state bar
  • 8+ years of relevant experience with human trafficking, child safety, user welfare regulations, second line compliance or programmatic compliance design at a law firm or in-house with a multinational corporation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Law firm and in-house preferred
  • Experience providing practical and effective advice in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with 18 USC §2258A, SESTA-FOSTA, CDA 230, EU CSAM Derogation and other user generated content-based regulations
  • Interpersonal skills and a commitment to professionalism and collegiality
  • Proven experience presenting and communicating to audiences
