Reality Labs Research is developing new technologies that will revolutionize the way people interact with the metaverse. We are looking for a candidate with game engine development experience to turn these innovations into compelling user experiences. We have made some important advances, but it will take a team with a wide spectrum of skills to fully realize this goal. The ideal candidate is a person with demonstrated experience in rapid development of game or interactive experiences which integrate multiple electrical, mechanical, and software components.
Pipeline Engineer - Interactive Experience Responsibilities
  • Design the build & deploy process from Unity & Unreal to internal teams.
  • Collaborate with Technical Artists to design and implement interactive user experiences.
  • Oversee/maintain the dedicated hardware required to run the experiences.
  • Coordinate with engineering & QA leads to ensure stable releases of underlying technology and integration of new technologies.
  • Collaborate with researchers and other engineers across multiple disciplines to discuss, develop and optimize designs for prototypes.
  • Collaborate with the user study team to deploy experiences at scale.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
  • 4+ years experience with industry wide game engines (ex. Unity, Unreal).
  • Experience with Windows/Linux build environments.
  • Experience designing and implementing modular and easily extensible solutions.
  • Organizational and planning skills, and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with high-end VFX and/or video game motion capture systems.
  • Experience working with a cross-disciplinary team of researchers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, optical engineers, and software engineers.
  • Experience with virtual or augmented reality systems.
  • Experience with protocol design, specification, and implementation.
  • Experience developing and deploying to prototype hardware.
  • Experience with C++ and Python.
