RL Labs is looking for a Lab Manager to lead the day to day execution of a development oriented dimensional metrology lab. This role will entail working closely with metrology specialists and other engineers to ensure best practice delivery of results. Results are from measurement activities as well a researched best methods of component measurement. The Lab manager will provide a continuous improvement environment around both efficiency as well as new processes.
Lab Project Manager - Dimensional Metrology Responsibilities
  • Leads the execution of Metrology activities in accordance to stipulated production schedule and compliance requirements
  • Implement and manage queue for incoming metrology requests
  • Accountable for the scheduling of the instrumentation/calibrations and metrology services and activities in the site
  • Work with multiple lab vendors and cross-functional team partners on technical requirements and deliverables of equipment
  • Drive continuous improvement across labs owned
  • Track Metrology budget via weekly metrics – PO count, value to date, pending delivery PO count & value, and actual budget spend to date
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business management or facility management
  • Experience managing lab suppliers and associated contracts
  • Experience with lab PO process from quotation, purchase, payment, to delivery and vendor management
  • Experience with budget tracking, reporting and metrics
  • Experience managing OPEX and assigned CAPEX budgets & participates in the equipment evaluation process (for new purchases and life cycle management) as directed
  • Project management experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience setting up and running multiple labs in industries such as consumer electronics, automotive, aerospace, or defense
  • Experience with establishing workflows within a lab space layout
