Policy Associate Manager, Data Advocacy and Emerging Tech

Meta seeks a policy professional to work on data governance, privacy, cyber security, and emerging technologies in India. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Indian and global technology policy. They will have an professional understanding of data protection, information privacy, cyber security, emerging technologies, and related policy issues. They will be expected to drive Meta's public and stakeholder engagement on these issues in India. They should have experience of working on technology policy issues. The successful candidate will work with Meta's global and local public policy team as well as with cross-functional teams across the world. They should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure, multicultural environment across multiple time zones. They should have excellent verbal and written communication skills. This position may entail frequent travel. This role is a full-time position and will be located at our Gurgaon office and will be reporting into the Public Policy Director, India (Data Economy and Emerging Tech).
Policy Associate Manager, Data Advocacy and Emerging Tech Responsibilities
  • Execute Meta's policy strategy, by establishing partnerships and collaborations with governmental, civil society, and industry stakeholders.
  • Contribute to Meta's thought leadership on technology policy to external stakeholders.
  • Manage projects, build campaigns, conduct events, and develop professional networks.
  • Represent Meta, with other colleagues in meetings with key external stakeholders.
  • Analyze policy developments, identify trends, and forecast policy futures.
  • Provide feedback for new products and features.
  • Understand and explain Meta's products and architecture to external stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in public policy, data science, journalism, law, economics, engineering, or related fields.
  • 6+ years of public policy / policy advocacy experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and social skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional management experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in an international technology policy environment.
  • Experience in government relations.
