Software Engineering Manager Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, implementation, and de-bugging of complex, multi-level, multi-component issues that span across Meta's software stack.
  • Manage the development of broadly adopted internal tools.
  • Establish metrics and processes for responsible personnel for continual assessment and improvement.
  • Establish metrics and processes for measuring and improving software performance.
  • Lead the design and implementation of software that operate efficiently.
  • Efficiently deliver large volumes of data with low-latency and high bandwidth.
  • Lead the integration of software components from multiple partner teams into the unified product code base.
  • Leverage undergraduate-level knowledge of computer science and software engineering to build highly scalable applications using programming languages such as JavaScript, PHP, and HTML.
  • Leverage undergraduate-level knowledge of algorithms and object-oriented programming and apply that knowledge to leading software development projects.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field and 60 months of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. Experience must include 60 months involving the following:
  • 1. Software engineering including hands-on technical management building infrastructure core components
  • 2. Coding in C++, Java, Javascript, Python, or PHP
  • 3. Recruiting and managing technical teams, including performance management
  • 4. Architecting, developing, and shipping software products or services
  • 5. Management experience with technical teams, or experience as a technical lead or project manager
  • 6. Building products including front end technologies or backend systems
  • 7. Unix or Linux
  • 8. Large-scale Internet service architectures including load balancing, LAMP, or CDN's
  • 9. Designing and developing distributed systems, storage systems, or cache and data distribution infrastructure
  • 10. Scaling high performance, high throughput systems
  • 11. Troubleshooting and diagnosing problems in large-scale systems
  • 12. Coordinating large-scale, cross-functional efforts that span different teams.

$275,862/year to $286,897/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
