Meta is seeking Program Schedule Manager to join our Data Center Engineering & Construction (DEC) Team. Our data centers are the foundation upon which our rapidly scaling infrastructure efficiently operates and upon which our innovative services are delivered. Building and operating data centers the "right" way is synonymous with ensuring high uptime, capacity availability and capital conservation. The Program Schedule Manager will have a deep understanding of scheduling principles and how they can best be applied to achieve practical and impactful results during the front end of the planning and design cycle. The position will develop deep partnership with the Preconstruction, Design and Engineering teams as well as Subject Matter Experts from Cross functional groups, whose systems and processes impact and influence the schedules, with a focus on optimizing duration, cost and innovation for the global program. In addition, the position will develop industry partnerships to enhance the impact of the Infra Data Center team across our fleet of existing and future, state of the art data centers and retrofits, globally. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing, Program Development team and work on a state of the art Construction Delivery program, in an innovative and fast-paced environment.
Program Controls Manager, Schedule Responsibilities
  • Lead a team that can effectively perform an analysis of former, current and future Facebook data center designs and optimized work sequencing for each of them (both preconstruction and construction), working with design, preconstruction and execution teams, as well as GC’s, Global Data Center Connectivity, Commissioning, Sourcing and Operations Engineering, Facility Operations
  • Influence partner organizations and help drive decision making focused on schedule consideration, partnering with the right subject matter experts across the organization
  • Develop and refine the vision, mission, roadmap for this small but elite team that develops and maintains schedule templates - integrating design, preconstruction, innovation and executions efforts
  • Lead the development of a master program schedule, that allows effective scenario planning, and executive reporting, to highlight major schedule related insights
  • Partner with execution schedule team to drive schedule focused initiatives, incorporation lessons learned from execution teams to maintain practical and easy to access schedule templates for future and scenario planning
  • Lead a team focused on Pre-execution planning for Data Center Retrofits partnering with key stakeholders like Facility Operations, Capacity planning teams and others involved with working on live/online data centers
  • Lead schedule hacks focused on schedule optimization with our supply chain, delivery, cross-functional and PD partners
  • Partner with Execution schedule team to perform analysis and optimization of schedule contractual requirements and specifications (Division 1 specifications)
Minimum Qualifications
  • BA/BS in construction management, engineering, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 12 years’ experience in construction and project management, planning and schedule for various construction programs with at least 5 years of management experience, directly managing a team of specialists
  • Experience with MS Excel, PowerPoint, Primavera P6
  • Experience in corporate level cross-functional coordination and process/project leadership
  • Experience in preconstruction planning and schedule optimization
  • Communication, organization, and analytical skills are essential in this highly collaborative and strategic role

  • Knowledge of pull planning, and Earned Value Management
