Meta seeks a highly motivated, team player to serve as Lead Counsel within our Litigation and Regulatory team in LatAm. This full-time position will be based in Bogota, Colombia and will work cross-functionally with a wide variety of teams across the company. The role requires good judgment, a strong work ethic, excellent communication and relationship-building skills, and a strong interest in learning about new technologies and areas of the law. This is a great opportunity to join a growing legal team and work on innovative issues in an exciting, fast-paced environment.
Lead Counsel, Litigation Responsibilities
  • Supervise and direct outside counsel on multiple litigation and regulatory matters
  • Guide and execute litigation and regulatory strategy in relation to new and ongoing high-profile matters and regulatory inquiries
  • Work with cross-functional teams on elections, competition, intermediary liability, content legal, data protection, public policy, platform/partnership, product, privacy, IP, and commercial issues
  • Develop creative approaches to managing legal risks and resolving disputes
  • Ensure work product of the highest quality that furthers Meta's strategic goals
Minimum Qualifications
  • Qualified lawyer with 6+ years in a law firm or in-house
  • 6+ years litigation experience, including extensive experience dealing with tech litigation cases
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and make sound judgments under tight deadlines
  • Flexibility and willingness to work on projects in other areas
  • Passion for technology and innovation
  • Business fluency in both English and Spanish
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience working with internet or technology companies a plus
  • LL.M or Post-graduate degree in procedural, consumer or internet law
