Meta’s Reality Labs team focuses on delivering Meta’s vision through developing and launching consumer hardware devices. As a Manager of Technical Program Management, you will play a key role in building and supporting teams to deliver new cutting-edge technologies to next generation products. You will build and support a team of Display and Optics Technical Program Managers in defining and driving cross-functional plans for new technology and product introductions - communicating progress to stakeholders and ensuring the big picture stays in focus while delving into the details of specific technical issues. In this role, you will have a major impact on future products core to Meta’s strategy. Manager, AR Display Technical Program Management Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of Display TPMs, provide performance reviews, continual feedback, coaching and career growth for direct reports.
  • Hire and mentor a team of Display and Optics TPMs.
  • Articulate the technology, requirements, goals and milestones of your team.
  • Scale the organization to support multiple fast-paced product categories.
  • Define and own metrics and key performance indicators.
  • Develop and drive best practices and technology development processes.
  • Work closely with engineering leadership and core teams, driving the investigation, definition, and delivery of next generation systems and subsystems.
  • Manage cross-functional technology programs.
  • Perform risk management and change management on projects.
  • Contribute to resource planning to ensure program and team success.
  • Up to 25% travel.
Minimum Qualifications
  • BS or higher in Engineering, Materials Science or a similar field.
  • 3+ years of experience with building and managing a team of Technical Program Managers.
  • Experience working with Display and Optics consumer electronic technologies.
  • Experience in leading and partnering with international suppliers and contract manufacturers.
  • Experience with new product introduction (NPI) and technology transfer best practice and tools.
  • Experience with phase gate approach to technology development projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, shipping and ramping consumer electronics product into high volume manufacturing.
  • Experience communicating technical information to non-experts, at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience building, coordinating, and maintaining schedules across multiple teams, and managing shared resources to lead successful technology development programs.
  • Highly skilled in motivating, influencing, and resolving conflict amongst a cross-functional team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in Technical Program Management, preferably in development of consumer products.
  • MSc or PhD in Engineering, Material Science or a similar field.
  • 5+ years of experience with building and managing a team of Technical Program Managers.
