Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities
  • Develop state-of-the-art mechanical designs, structures, mechanisms and sensor integration solutions that will create transformative experiences for users of Augmented Reality
  • Design and develop wearable and handheld devices for AR applications, including systems with optical components, electronic boards and precision sensors
  • Work on cutting edge technologies with a diverse cross-functional team of engineers and scientists that pioneer mechanical, electrical, optical, materials, firmware, software and computer vision solutions
  • Lead or contribute to mechanical solutions as a part of a team
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to generate concepts and details designs
  • Apply rigorous mechanical engineering techniques to solve challenging design problems
  • Analyze, optimize, build, test and refine prototypes that can survive harsh outdoor environmental conditions and lead to robust products
Minimum Qualifications
  • Employer will accept Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, or related field and 12 months of work experience in job offered or in a computer-related occupation. Experience must include 6 months of experience in the following:
  • Mechanical engineering product design and prototyping skills
  • Experience in 3D CAD modeling and GD&T for part design, advanced assemblies, and complex configuration management
  • Proficient in finite element analysis (FEA)/CFD software such as Ansys for structural and thermal analysis in product development environment
  • Experience in data analysis and computational tool such as MATLAB, Mathematica, or Python
  • Leading mechanical engineering efforts in a cross-functional team environment
  • Applying mechanical engineering techniques to solve challenging design problems
  • Understanding of fundamental optical engineering principles to collaborate with optical/systems engineers to understand constraints and apply in design
  • Experience in analyzing and creating thermal management solutions for battery powered systems and battery packs
  • Applying reliability engineering experience to create test plans, and perform system validation, FMECA and failure analysis
  • Experience in system design for harsh environmental conditions that involves vibration, shock, drop, wide temperature range, and ingress protection
